Gas Turbine Engines

Alturdyne is licensed to produce the Sundstrand series T62 engines in specific models from 55 to 150 HP with a variety of output gearboxes.  The engines were originally designed and produced by Solar/Turbomach. The T62 Gas Turbine Engine is qualified for use in aircraft, helicopters, vessels and ground power units.  The combination of a power head with a gearbox allows for applications as a generator set, hydraulic pump, pneumatic source, compressor, or mechanical drive. All engines feature a single stage centrifugal compressor, a combustor and a radial inflow turbine.  A self-contained air/oil mist/lube system with rotor assembly overhang on two bearings.  A wide variety of liquid fuels are compatible with the control system and a gas burning unit has been developed. A series of second generation higher power units are also available from Sundstrand. Alturdyne stocks a complete line of replacement parts including exchange engines for overhaul capabilities.
