Alturdyne was founded in 1971 to package gas turbine systems for the commercial and governmental marketplaces. The widespread acceptance of Alturdyne’s design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities has resulted in a continuing staff and facility expansion. Custom reciprocating engine power systems from 10 to 5000
horsepower presently account for the majority of Alturdyne's business. Presently, over 30 people operate
a facility in San Diego, California as well as a
second in Dallas, Texas.
Alturdyne’s Power System expertise extends to reciprocating engine systems, sound attenuated and many related packaging and engineering fields for stationary, portable and airborne applications.
Alturdyne Energy Systems is active in the development and application of Engine Natural Gas-Driven Chillers and cogeneration units for distributed utility applications.

Alturdyne has the proven capability to package gas turbine, rotary, and reciprocating engines for a wide variety of applications: Generator Sets, Compressors, Hydraulic Start Systems, High-Speed Reduction Drives, Ground Power Units, Air-Transportable Power Systems. Selected components of high speed turbo machinery have been produced.

These technological advancements are readily available to new areas of industry, commerce, and government. A current program is directed at the reduction of engine emissions and the packaging of internet based diagnostic and communication controls.
Consulting, architectural design and engineering services are provided for commercial turnkey installations. Infrared-suppressed, nuclear hardened, and electron magnetic-pulse-suppressed generator sets are an Alturdyne specialty for government agencies. Quality control to MIL-I-45208 is in place and MIL-Q-9858 can be implemented.
